2021 Campus Facilities Inventory Report
- 59% of institutions plan to create or update their master plan in the coming year
- 48% plan to create more cultural / affinity group spaces in the next year
- 62% plan to create more flexible/unassigned space for staff workspaces
- 54% plan to do so for academic workspaces
These are just a few key takeaways from the 2021 Campus Facilities Inventory, a revealing survey of 88 higher-education institutions across the country who shared data on their buildings, as well as recent and planned changes to their facilities.
Conducted by brightspot in collaboration with the Society for College and University Planning, the research also details changes over the last year — and plans for the next three years — helping paint a lucid picture of Covid-19’s impact on how universities and colleges are planning for new facilities.
